Technologies

Carbon with UD weave
The foundation of carbon components are fibres. At Syncros we mostly use unidirectional carbon fibres. These exhibit higher tensile strength and elastic modulus than the various woven carbon weaves (the tensile strength is the amount of force required to cause the fibres to break, while the elastic modulus is a measure of the stiffness of the carbon fibres). They are then arranged to get the best out of them (along their fibre length) and achieve stiffness (or flexibility) where needed. The internal graphs of the sheet are different depending on how they are placed (0°, +- 45°, 90°), which gives us the ability to create very light carbon products that allow us to be one of the leaders in innovation in this field. The 3k woven models (i.e. 3000 filaments per bundle) are only used in very specific areas, e.g. around holes, where delamination could be critical.
