As part of its exclusive partnership with KTH Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and Mips, Specialized shared the CAD designs for helmets and studied the still tender skulls of young children through finite element analysis (FEA). Because the head of children is softer and growing, this collaboration has established the need for the use of low density foam, and a greater amount.

Data-driven innovation
As a result of the collaboration with KTH and Mips, for the Shuffle 2 LED helmet, the addition of 18% more low-density foam increased the helmet by only 5% in terms of overall size.

The Shuffle 2 LED helmet has many technological features, but they are only functional when worn the right way. That's why the sizes are child-specific and why the decision was made to adopt the SX holding system, which helps in the right and comfortable fit. The Tri-Fix device ensures easy adjustment of the straps.
