SIS Beta Recovery supplement

A complete dual-source recovery drink

Scientifically formulated for post-endurance training. An advanced recovery drink for the athlete who wants to continue training repeatedly. Designed for athletes who train regularly or exercise at moderate or high intensity for a duration of 90 minutes or more, and who need a complete recovery solution to ensure they are fully recovered before their next session.
Carbohydrate is your main fuel for prolonged exercise at moderate or high intensity. After an intense training session or competition, your muscles and liver are likely to be depleted of glycogen, and a key goal of recovery is to quickly restore glycogen reserves. In this respect, fructose is a carbohydrate source that is preferentially absorbed by the liver and used to promote the recovery of liver glycogen reserves, while maltodextrin can be absorbed directly by the muscle to restore muscle glycogen reserves.
To maximise recovery of glycogen reserves, it is recommended to consume 1g of carbohydrate per 1kg of body weight, which is why 60g of carbohydrate per serving is included in BETA Recovery. The recovery process also requires consuming a sufficient dose of protein to provide the amino acids needed to promote the repair of any muscle damage and provide the building blocks needed to stimulate adaptation to training.
BETA Recovery is scientifically formulated with a dual-source carbohydrate blend containing 60g of carbohydrate (with a 1:1 ratio of maltodextrin to fructose) and 30g of whey protein per serving. The inclusion of probiotic cultures helps promote protein digestion and absorption and supports gut and immune function.

Recharge with carbohydrates
Carbohydrates are the main source of energy used to fuel moderate to high intensity exercise, the intensities commonly performed by both endurance and team sports athletes. Carbohydrates are stored mainly as glycogen both in the liver (about 100g) and in the muscles (about 400g), and about 5g circulate in the bloodstream as glucose. Athletes should aim to start training sessions or competitions with fully charged glycogen reserves to optimise performance.
Intense exercise relies heavily on glycogen as fuel, which means that our muscles and liver can be exhausted after just 90 minutes of exercise. For this reason, one of the main nutritional goals in the post-exercise period is to quickly restore both reserves so that one can start the next training session with sufficient glycogen reserves to fuel the work required.

Dual Source Carbohydrates Explained
BETA Recovery is a dual source formulation, which means it contains two forms of carbohydrate, maltodextrin (glucose) and fructose. Why do we need two forms of carbohydrate? Once digested and absorbed, the muscle is unable to absorb fructose directly. This specific carbohydrate is preferentially absorbed by the liver, where it can be used to promote hepatic glycogen storage. Glucose, on the other hand, can be absorbed directly by muscle and is used to promote muscle glycogen storage. The dual-source formulation provides a nutritional solution to simultaneously promote rapid recovery of both muscle and liver glycogen stores.

Revolutionary Recovery
BETA Recovery's dual-source carbohydrate blend is scientifically proven to contribute to the rapid recovery of both hepatic and muscle glycogen stores in endurance exercise recovery. The inclusion of whey protein in the recovery formulation is proven to further enhance recovery of both liver and muscle glycogen stores, while also supporting muscle repair and remodelling. Improve your recovery process from endurance exercise with BETA Recovery.

Build muscle with protein
Protein is the building block of life as it provides the amino acids that help the body grow and repair itself. Our hair, skin, muscles and all tissues in our body are made from the proteins we eat. Muscle protein synthesis, the process of producing new muscle protein, is an important component of how the body maintains and builds muscle and provides the basis for how our muscles adapt to exercise. When you eat protein after exercise, you provide your muscles with the amino acids they need to repair, rebuild and renew themselves, leading to faster recovery and promoting adaptation to training.
Whey protein is considered a complete protein because it contains all nine essential amino acids. They especially contain large amounts of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs). Leucine is a particularly important amino acid as it provides the signal to stimulate muscle protein synthesis. Whey protein also provides a complete amino acid profile to promote muscle protein synthesis in the hours following exercise.
BETA Recovery provides 30g of protein per serving, including 3g of leucine, a dose scientifically proven to promote maximum rates of muscle protein synthesis in recovery from endurance exercise.

Improves intestinal function
BC30TM (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086) has been added to BETA Recovery due to its natural ingredient supporting digestive health, immune health and protein absorption.

Features

  • Supports recovery after prolonged endurance exercise at moderate to high intensity.
  • Supports recovery of normal muscle function before your next session.
  • A 60g dual-source carbohydrate blend with a 1:1 ratio of fructose to maltodextrin, scientifically proven to promote glycogen storage in the liver and muscles.
  • A 30g dose of protein, with 3g of leucine, promotes muscle growth and maintenance.
  • Mixes quickly and easily with water.

Suggested Usage
Add 100g of powder (four full scoops) to 500 ml of cold water and shake. It is recommended to consume within 30 minutes after exercise. The accumulation of glycogen in the muscles and liver is faster if carbohydrates are consumed immediately after exercise.
