A lightweight rim is not enough to achieve the incredible responsiveness and handling of the Alpinist CLX II tubeless wheels. The wheel was designed as a system, with engineers checking and testing every part of the system - hubs, rims, spokes, lacing - and developing it in conjunction with Specialized Tubeless tyres. The result is a 680 gram tubeless wheel with outstanding ride quality, designed for real road pressures.

The Alpinist CLX II rim is a work of art. It features the most precise carbon layup ever created, the result of over 50 different iterations, hundreds of impact tests and countless hours on the road. It reacts to even the slightest increase in power with instant acceleration and sculpts the purest lines in curves, but is also capable of handling almost twice the impact standards of any certifying body. This is instant acceleration and supreme durability, achieved over two years of work.

The reduction in rolling resistance of a tubeless set-up is undeniable, as are the benefits of improved handling and incredible puncture protection.  As a result of this extensive development, the Alpinist CLX II features a hooked rim that can handle a wide range of pressures up to 110psi and offer an easier set-up and fitting experience than ever before. This is tubeless done right.

The brand new LightAF hubs are the rotating heart of the Alpinist CLX II. The previous Alpinist CLX hub has been reduced by 50 grams thanks to new low-profile hub bodies and machined rotor mounts. On the inside, DT Swiss EXP internal components and SINC ceramic bearings guarantee silent efficiency and exceptional durability.
