    SpeedGRIP compound

Specific formulation for Gravel, born from Pirelli's experience in the world of rallying where the characteristics of smoothness on asphalt and grip on gravel are crucial. This compound uses the same polymer matrix as the MTB SmartGrip Compound, but improves its smoothness. Gravel use requires greater speed and versatility on/off-road, so Pirelli engineers have oriented the compound's properties towards better energy efficiency, enabling excellent performance on gravel and high grip in both dry and wet conditions. With sliding values on any surface similar to those recorded by purely road tyres.

    TechWALL Gravel

Using a combination of the know-how developed for reinforced road structures and the experience gained in MTB, Pirelli's engineers have created a Gravel construction that relies on both the mechanical resistance of the compound itself and a layer of high shear resistance that protects the casing from bead to bead. While punctures on the road occur mainly from penetration by sharp objects, off-road punctures occur more frequently from stones or debris on the sidewall of the tyre. For this reason, the textile material used for the TechWALL construction is particularly resistant to cuts, in order to ensure better resistance of the entire structure. The tubeless-ready 120tpi casing guarantees an optimal riding feel without the risk of forced stops thanks to the use of specific anti-cut fabrics. A unique mix of technologies to tackle all types of terrain.

  • Anti puncture: Nylon fabric.
  • Compound: Speedgrip Compound.

Technologies

Tread
The tread of the Cinturato™ Gravel Hard Terrain is made up of low, densely packed knobs and is made with a rubber compound that guarantees grip, high adaptability to the terrain and, at the same time, resistance to wear. The height of the knobs is reduced to increase smoothness and limit deformation when cornering on terrain that does not allow penetration, guaranteeing excellent handling and a great sense of safety in both wet and dry conditions.

Single Compound
The properties of the new SpeedGRIP Compound formulation are tailored for all weather conditions, regardless of whether the terrain is dry or wet. The new formulation retains the same polymer matrix as the specific mountain bike SmartGRIP Compound, improving the rolling efficiency.

Structure
Coupling a reinforced casing construction featuring a woven fabric bead-to-bead layer with a tubeless-ready Aramid bead optimized for wide modern rims, Cinturato™ Gravel Hard Terrain offers an extremely high level of puncture protection and a new level of performance in terms of rolling and grip, as well as great reliability - which is already what the Cinturato™ trademark stands for in Pirelli.
