Maxxis Assegai Exo+ 3C Maxx Terra Tubeless Ready WT 27.5" tire
World Cup Champion Greg Minnaar's signature tire. The Maxxis Assegai tire is named after the iron-tipped spear used by the Zulu people of South Africa. Greg Minnaar, a native of South Africa, thought it was a fitting name for a tire ready to do battle on the mountain. The tall knobs punch through dust and loam to find traction, but also offer support and confidence on wet roots and rocks. While other tires excel only in certain conditions, the new Maxxis Assegai is built to go fast everywhere.

Technologies
WT - Wide Trail
Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tire's tread layout and profile on today's modern wider rims. Traditional tires are designed around older, narrower rims and can create an overly square tire profile, leading to less than optimal performance. WT tires are optimized for a 35 mm inner rim width, but are proven to work over a range from 30-35 mm inner rim widths, depending on the rider's preference.
TR-Tubeless Ready
Tubeless tires provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tire; and less chance of flatting since there is no tube. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tires provide the benefits of a UST tubeless tire without the weight penalty. The square bead profile of the TR tires is designed to work with the broad range of tubeless rims available on the market today. Maxxis's TR tires use a special construction which allows the use of liquid sealants to make them airtight and to help prevent punctures. If needed, Maxxis TR tires can also be used with an inner tube.
Exo+ Protection
A new EXO+ construction combines two of the best puncture protection materials: SilkShield and EXO. The SilkShield layer runs from bead-to-bead with a layer of EXO along the sidewalls. Combined, these two materials create EXO+ which improves tread puncture protection by 27%; sidewall durability by 51%; and resistance to pinch flats by 28%.
3C MaxxTerra
An intermediate compound configuration used in selec mountain tires. 3C Maxx Terra is softer and offers more traction than 3C Maxx Speed, yet provides better wear and less rolling resistance than MaxxGrip.
