Fizik Adaptive 3D-printed padding has been extended to the Aeris family, creating the perfect solution for those who want exceptional, long-lasting comfort in a triathlon/TT bike saddle designed to provide increased support and stability when pedalling in advanced, aerodynamic racing positions.
Bespoke zonal cushioning
The evolution of digital 3D printing has allowed us to develop a new saddle without the constraints or limitations imposed by traditional production methods and materials. The padding of the Adaptive saddle is made by Carbon® using their revolutionary Digital Light Synthesis™ technology. DLS is an additive manufacturing process that uses digital ultraviolet light projection, oxygen permeable optics and programmable liquid resins to produce parts with excellent mechanical properties, resolution and surface finish.
Laboratory tested, road proven
Using Carbon technology, biomechanics and engineers have an unprecedented opportunity: design and build multiple functional zones within the saddle, adjusting each one separately for specific mechanical properties. Each of these key functional zones is designed for distinctive cushioning and mechanical response, progressively and seamlessly joined together in the same padding. The result? A 60 per cent reduction in peak pressure through improved weight distribution for greater comfort across the entire surface of the saddle.
Fast and forward thinking
Innovation in bike-fitting analysis together with research into cycling aerodynamics led us to rethink our triathlon and time trial saddles. In a field where marginal gains are crucial, being able to provide a saddle that allows comfort in the most extreme aerodynamic positions represents a leap forward in performance achievement.
Specific distance support
We designed the Short-Distance version of Aeris Adaptive to provide support and stability for athletes competing in both time trials and short-course, trail-free triathlons. The appropriately sized toe and specific functional zones on the 3D-printed padding provide balanced performance to allow riders to produce maximum power while in advanced aerodynamic positions. One of the many advantages of Adaptive technology is that it allows us to incorporate a soft central functional zone instead of a cutout, improving weight distribution for better pressure relief to increase comfort in the most extreme aerodynamic riding positions. At the same time, the padding surface provides a non-slip grip that prevents unnecessary movements that can compromise performance.
Multiple functions for mixed disciplines
Aeris is equipped with an optional connection to integrate a bottle holder on the back of the saddle. The connection is designed to hold the water bottles at an angle that does not cause discomfort during critical uphill and downhill phases in transition zones. Compliant with UCI rules, Aeris features a revolutionary rail insertion that not only provides a more aerodynamic feel, but also allows for a wide range of adjustments necessary to achieve the ideal forward position to beat the wind. Aeris R1 saves weight thanks to a newly developed 7x9mm carbon rail.
