Ergon SR Pro Carbon Men saddle
High performance and comfort in one saddle
The SR Pro Carbon Men brings ergonomics to a lightweight high-performance saddle. It weighs only 175 grams with carbon rails and carbon composite shell (size S/M). With an ergonomic shape and relief channel as well as OrthoCell® inserts to distribute the seat load, this saddle is light, supportive and relieves pressure.
Men's health
The Ergon development team conducted extensive research on the subject of male health. They found that the main cause of discomfort while cycling is the saddle. Men often experience too much pressure on the perineal area, which causes pain, discomfort, numbness and potentially more serious health problems. The SR Pro Men relieves this pressure with a very specific relief channel and improved surface distribution under the bone structures. Through MRT analysis, CT, many prototypes and testers ergonomically adapted the saddle to the anatomy and specific needs of men.
Greater freedom of movement
Compared to women, the male pelvis tends to be less flexible. This means that men sit up straighter on the saddle and distribute their weight more on the bones of their buttocks. Therefore, the transition area between the back of the saddle and the tip of the saddle can be kept narrow (Y-shaped). This gives the legs more room to pedal.
Male and female pelvic differences
In contrast to the female anatomy, the male buttocks bones are narrower and the point where the two sides of the pelvis join at the front is much higher. This results in a greater distribution of pressure on the male butt bones compared to a wider area of butt bones and pubic bones in women. Ergon took this significant difference between male and female anatomy into account during the development of the saddle.
No pressure on sensitive areas
The correct distribution of pressure is important. In order to protect the sensitive perineal area, pressure must be shifted onto the bones of the buttocks and parts of the pubic arch: this is exactly how the relief surface of Ergon men's saddles works. Thanks to the more upright seated male pelvis, we keep the surface flat and even for the best possible freedom of movement. We use the highest quality foams for support.
The right size
The shape and size of the saddle must fit the width of the rider's ischial bones to maximise comfort and enjoyment.
The pelvic bone has a unique V-shape and the saddle must offer the bones of the buttocks a large contact surface area with the ability to meet the demand for different sitting positions. Different saddle widths are available so that the usable seating surface corresponds to the unique distance of the butt bones of the rider. The more aggressively the rider sits forward, the more the bones of the buttocks come into contact with the saddle forward.

Technology
Deep relief channel
Eliminate unwanted pressure
The progressive relief channel, which deepens towards the rear, leads to an opening through the saddle shell. This construction combines all the advantages of a cut saddle without the potential disadvantages. This design gives the saddle shell more tolerance and specifically relieves perineal pressure. Too much pressure in this area often leads to discomfort and numbness in the genital area.
OrthoCell® -Pads
Even better than gel
With SM Comp Men, the new OrthoCell® material helps you achieve your best performance without complaints. These pads, which are stronger and lighter than gel, ensure the best pressure distribution and provide maximum rebound force. This means that they follow the movements of your pelvis with each turn of the crank, but return to the starting position very quickly.
Orthopaedic foam
Comfortable and durable
Orthopaedic foam is particularly ergonomic for road cycling, but is still extremely durable. With the addition of OrthoCell® inserts, the pressure on the bone structures is distributed much better by increasing the rebound force and dissipating vibrations.
The ramp
More support, more power
The ramp at the rear of the SR Pro Carbon Men provides effective support for the buttocks, especially when accelerating in drops. The ramp supports you so that more power goes to the pedals and less energy is wasted by supporting you in a position that produces power.
Anti-friction sidewalls
Less friction, more movement
For an added comfort benefit, Ergon added anti-friction sidewalls to the SR Pro Men. This feature reduces the friction of the thighs on the saddle when pedalling, resulting in less friction and more freedom of movement.
Integrated QuickClick mount
Removable QuickClick Topeak saddlebag mount
A Topeak QuickClick attachment is integrated into all models of the SR Men series. This detachable QuickClick mount makes it easy to attach Topeak saddlebags in an aerodynamic manner.
