DT Swiss HX 1700 Spline 6 bolts Boost 29 wheelset
A set of high-end aluminium wheels with proven technology to extend your eMTB ride.
An eMTB is designed to get up and down mountains fast and provide maximum fun. The new HX 1700 SPLINE high-end aluminium wheel set does just that. With several years of experience in hybrid bike components and stringent specific testing procedures, DT Swiss has redesigned this wheel set to meet the growing demand for e-mountain bikes. Completely redesigned, the 350 hub features a larger body, which allows for better resistance to braking moment and drive torque, for greater reliability and durability. The new hub is now combined with a high-end welded aluminium rim and reinforced hybrid spokes. This wheel is ready for all those who want to experience eMTB adventures without boundaries.
Rim
The tubeless ready aluminium rim with hooks with an inner width of 30 in size 29".
Hub
Redesigned hub body for greater durability with better braking and drive torque resistance than the previous range and a more robust eMTB look.
Freewheel body
The cassette interface of the freewheel body is optimised with a hardened steel specifically for the higher loads occurring on eMTBs.
Ratchet
Proven Ratchet system with a specific hardened steel freewheel body.
Spokes
DT Hybrid 1 spokes are reinforced to increase the lateral and torsional stiffness of the wheel.

Technologies
Tubeless
All DT Swiss wheels are compatible with tubeless technology and the ASM versions are tubeless-ready, equipped with tubeless tape and valves. Tubeless tyres have several advantages over the traditional combination of tube and clincher: the tyre can be inflated to a lower pressure level, without the risk of pinching (so-called "snakebite" punctures) and providing superior grip. The lower pressure offers greater comfort in the saddle and the absence of a chamber eliminates friction between the chamber and the tyre, resulting in less rolling resistance on terrain and obstacles. The use of a tubeless sealing fluid enables the tyre to self-seal punctures and small cuts. A great advantage for all those who like to ride for a long time and who, in the event of a problem, would find themselves several kilometres away from the nearest repair shop.
Bearings
DT Swiss hubs are designed to function optimally once fitted to the bike. To this end, the tightening torque generated by the wheel mounting system must be taken into account when manufacturing the hubs. Find out how to ensure the optimal rotational capacity of ball bearings and why DT Swiss does not produce hubs with adjustable bearing clearance. In order for a bearing to be able to rotate, a certain play, in the order of a micrometre, is required. Without this clearance, the bearing cannot rotate. Bearing clearance is both radial and axial. The axial clearance is the possible longitudinal displacement of one bearing ring relative to the other in the absence of load, while the radial clearance is measured vertically with respect to the central axis of the bearing.
Engagement angle
The engagement angle (or engagement angle) corresponds to the maximum amplitude of rotation that the freewheel body can make before the teeth of the system engage into each other imparting acceleration to the hub. This angle is calculated by dividing 360º by the number of engagement points of the freewheel system.
DT Pro Lock
In the DT Pro Lock process, a two-component adhesive liquid is injected into the thread of the nipple, enabling extremely reliable wheel assembly. By tightening the nipple on the spoke, the two-component adhesive starts to act and harden. Once fully hardened, it is still possible to centre the wheel several times, with only a slight decrease in the threadlocking effect.
Ratchet
Equipped with high-precision toothed sprockets, the patented freewheel system guarantees superior levels of performance and reliability. The teeth of the sprockets engage simultaneously in each other and the loads are distributed equally over a large contact surface. The plug-in construction of the Ratchet system hubs guarantees fast and tool-free maintenance. The no-tool concept allows switching to a different drive standard in seconds.
