DT Swiss HGC 1400 Spline 30 DB wheelset
Switch on, off the road
Explore new territories and enjoy the freedom of an extended off-road adventure thanks to the extra power of e-gravel bikes. The new HGC 1400 SPLINE is hand-built with hybrid-specific components to handle the extra weight and higher torque of today's e-gravel bikes. While you may have lacked the extra power to go beyond your borders, with this carbon Hybrid Gravel wheelset, you can let yourself off the hook from past limitations. How? Thanks to a tailored combination of high-end components, built around a light and agile carbon rim. At the core is the 240 Ratchet EXP OS hub with its reinforced bearings, hand-laced with strong Hybrid spokes for increased stiffness and durability in the most demanding conditions. The result is an agile and comfortable wheelset that will allow you to enjoy the freedom of off-road adventures for a long time.
New carbon mold rim
A new mold concept eliminates the need for a final coating, saving weight and providing a stunning finish.
Decals
The decals come in thr new in-house font and design.
Spokes
The strong Hybrid spokes provide increased stiffness and durability thanks to their reinforced heads.
Hub
The 240 Ratchet EXP OS hub include bigger bearings that better absorb the additional axial and radial loads of e-gravel bikes.
Freehub body
The cassette interface of the freehub body is reinforced with a specific hardened steel for the higher loads that occur on e-gravel bikes.

Technologies
Ratchet EXP OS Technologies
With the use of a single cylindrical spring, the system wears less while allowing faster full engagement. With full 30T engagement, the force generated by the motor and rider is transmitted evenly over a wide contact area, allowing for superior reliability. A bigger double thread spreads the loads across a larger area, reducing peak loads, contributing to the longevity of the system and even allowing more torque to be transmitted. Larger bearings with larger balls spin fast and better absorb the additionnal axial and radial loads from the eMTBs. The axle was tested in FEM-strength analyses in order to determine the bending loads that occur when riding an eMTB and to optimize the axle resistance.
Aero+
The symbiosis of drag, handling and efficiency. When refining a wheel according to AERO+, the optimization of all parameters is subject to one single goal: higher speeds! Translational drag is the aerodynamic force in the riding direction that slows the cyclist down. It consists of the frontal area of the cyclist (75 %), the road bike and its components (25 %), and speed. To minimize this translational drag, the surface of the overall system needs to be minimized while streamlining the entire road bike and cyclist as far as possible. If you want to be faster, the key is to reduce the aerodynamic drag of the complete system of road bike and cyclist as the force increases proportionally with the square of speed. From 15 km/h upwards, aerodynamic drag is the greatest resistance a cyclist has to overcome. As the front wheel contributes 8 % of total drag, the wheel’s behavior plays a significant role.
Tubeless technology
All DT Swiss wheelsets are tubeless compatible and the ASM versions come tubeless ready, equipped with tubeless tape and valves. Tubeless tires have a number of advantages over the conventional combination of tube and tire: without risking snakebites, the tire can be run with lower pressures providing better grip. The lower pressure also results in a more comfortable ride. Eliminating the tube means there is no friction between tube and tire and therefore less rolling resistance when the tire rolls over the ground and obstacles. If tubeless sealant is used, the tire can self-seal stings and small cuts. A big advantage for all those who like to ride long and far from the next bikeshop.
Spoke Technologies
The production of high-quality spokes marked the beginning of the company. DT was synonymous with top quality Swiss spokes, even before the establishment of today‘s DT Swiss AG. To this day, DT Swiss spokes stand for durability and precision and are unrivalled thanks to their unique production process that combines lightweight with durability.
New carbon mold rim technology
An industry disrupting rim manufacturing process and a layer-by-layer nondestructive inspection of every product creates light yet durable rims for a long-lasting riding experience. Traditionally the industry standard constructs the parts of a carbon rim separately, which can lead to irregularities when joining the parts together. The new method allows us to construct a high impact resistant rim where the fibers in the outer layers are not cut and thus have continuous strands in the impact areas. This results in a more consistent structure with minimal imperfections.
