Dt Swiss Exc 1200 Classic front wheel 2025
Imagine fearlessly riding the fastest line, a rocky ridge or a field of roots. The EXC 1200 CLASSIC supports your boldest line choices, guaranteeing great resources even if things don't go according to plan. Exclusive process guarantees maximum carbon compression to increase durability like never before. A patent-pending layer-by-layer quality control technique ensures that imperfections are minimised directly “out of the mold” to maximise your efforts. The lighter front rim has 28 DT revolite spokes, while the stronger rear rim has 32. The high engagement DEG ratchet allows for a reduced free wheel travel, which is crucial for acceleration out of corners. Get ready to "go for it" on the stages and push your limits!
30th anniversary special edition
Style and exclusivity meet unrivalled strength and durability in a limited 30th anniversary design: discover the EXC 1200 CLASSIC 3DEC.
Rim structure
Maximum layer compression thanks to a state-of-the-art carbon construction technique for the strongest MTB rims ever.
Quality control
A rim that is 100% ready for the road, thanks to the quality control technique that scans every detail down to the smallest layer.
The rims
The rims are asymmetrical and differentiated, for strength at the rear and lightness at the front.
Hub
The EXC 1200 CLASSIC wheels sport classic 180 hubs for J-bend spokes and run on low-friction ceramic bearings. The freewheel system is the quick-release Ratchet DEG, with its 90-tooth crowns.
The spokes
The 28 DT revolite spokes are lightest and strongest MTB spokes in their weight class.

Technologies
PURE Carbon Technology
Traditionally, the industry standard is to build the carbon rim parts separately, which can lead to irregularities during assembly. PURE Carbon method allows us to create a particularly impact-resistant rim, in which the fibres of the outer layers are not cut, thus maintaining continuous threads in the impact areas. This results in a more consistent structure, and imperfections are reduced to a minimum.
Tubeless technology
All DT Swiss wheels are compatible with tubeless technology and the ASM versions are tubeless-ready, equipped with tubeless tape and valves.
Engagement angle
The engagement angle (or engagement angle) corresponds to the maximum amplitude of rotation that the freewheel body can make before the teeth of the system engage into each other imparting acceleration to the hub. This angle is calculated by dividing 360º by the number of engagement points of the freewheel system.
DT PRO LOCK® technology
In the DT Pro Lock process, a two-component adhesive liquid is injected into the thread of the nipple, enabling extremely reliable wheel mounting. By tightening the nipple on the spoke, the two-component adhesive starts to act and harden. Once fully hardened, it is still possible to centre the wheel several times, with only a slight decrease in the threadlocking effect.
Bearing technology
DT Swiss hubs are designed to work optimally once mounted on the bike. To this end, the torque generated by the wheel mounting system must be taken into consideration when designing the hubs. Find out how to ensure the optimal rotational capacity of ball bearings and why DT Swiss does not produce hubs with adjustable bearing clearance.
