Technologies
Pure Grip compound
Based on silica-activated compounds, this technology was originally intended for a performance-level compound, but after intensive development at the R&D Department in Korbach, a new advanced compound with outstanding grip and cross-country properties was developed. This new rubber compound, dubbed 'PureGrip', is placed immediately after the BlackChili compound and is used in performance products for both road and mountain biking. In addition to providing excellent grip, it is also durable and highly resistant - both characteristics of Continental tyres, which are produced exclusively in the factory in Hefei (Asia).
ShieldWall system
The ShieldWall system optimally combines high puncture protection and low rolling resistance with low weight. This is made possible by an additional puncture protection layer, which consists of a finely woven cross-woven fabric. This gives the tyre a high resistance to punctures and damage. Despite the additional ply, the tyre has excellent damping properties and a high degree of flexibility to adapt perfectly to the terrain. The revolutionary tubeless ready bead allows for easy and simple tyre fitting. For best sealing and handling results, we recommend the use of the new Continental RevoSealant sealant.
E25
For the E-Bike tyre we rely on over 100 years of experience with moped and motorbike tyres. All city/trekking tyres are approved for a standard speed of at least 25 km/h. Tyres marked e50 are also certified for S-Pedelecs. Thanks to their high-quality construction, puncture protection is high and rolling resistance is low, providing protection against premature wear caused by additional driving force.
Tubeless Ready
Tubeless Ready tyres can be used both with and without an inner tube, through the use of a sealing fluid. They also provide bikers with many benefits, including lower rolling resistance compared to tube tyres, the ability to ride at very low pressures, thereby increasing the grip offered by the tyre, and finally the ability to reduce the number of punctures due to the absence of an inner tube.
ProTection
ProTection technology gives Continental tyres the perfect mix of smoothness, grip and puncture protection. Four layers under the tread and three on the sidewalls make this possible.
