Centa Race bib shorts

Race Bib Shorts is CENTA’s race design shorts with panels, seams and suspenders designed for racing or medium distances. Comfort and stability are guaranteed by a compact pad with hybrid cell structure that improves vibration protection, sweat management and a snug fit with a medium compression fabric supports the muscle on every ride.


Features

Soft tape
Soft touch anti-friction tape has been added along the edges of the waistband.

Laser finish
Laser-cut leg bottoms guarantee aerodynamics and comfort. The ultra-light silicone soft grip inserts in support of the ladderproof fabric keep the bib shorts steady during cycling without creating discomfort, creases and chafing.

Visibility
To increase visibility and safety, reflective logos and other elements have been added to the back of the leg.

Leg length
For greater aerodynamics, the leg length is slightly longer than on traditional bib shorts.

Ergonomic braces
Like the rest of the bib shorts, the shoulder straps have been calibrated to the riding position. They have been created light and with reduced elasticity in the rear area in combination with the X-panel to stabilise both the pad and the shorts during cycling and to avoid chafing during intense performance. This model has anti-bacterial, anti-odour silver threads positioned on the inner side to maintain a clean, minimal design. The conductive capacity of silver distributes heat along the fibres, dissipating sweat and heat and thus decreasing drying time.

X Lumbar
The braces interact with each other through the X-junction on the low stretch back made of soft, perforated and breathable material. In this way the overalls remain stable but without chafing because the tensions are distributed respecting the harmony of the body's movements. Combined with the ladder-proof compact fabric, the braces create compression zones to support the lumbar and gluteal muscles.

UV UPF 50+
The fabric has a protection factor that protects against UV radiation (UPF 50+).


Technologies

Pad
The pads have been designed after careful studies of the anatomy of the human body with particular focus on comfort. Centa has analysed the contact and pressure points with the saddle, i.e. the ischial - perineal area, on people with different anatomical conformation and in the most varied conditions of sports performance: during training, competition, medium and long distances and on routes with different characteristics.
This has allowed us to develop, in collaboration with the Italian company Cytech (Elastic interface), pads with a three-dimensional construction consisting of various levels of thicknesses of ultralight foam with an open cellular structure, breathable, variable density and with memory. A single thermoformed piece on which the foams have been appropriately distributed according to the friction and pressure points with the saddle. During pedalling, these foams absorb shocks and energy exerted on the perineal area by compressing and resuming their original shape.

Race Pad
The Race Pad is ideal for competitions and medium distances thanks to its structure that improves blood flow and reduces pressure in the perineal area by absorbing shocks and micro-vibrations. The patented design consists of a multidirectional curvature that improves stability and fit on the saddle, a central channel specifically for the male anatomy, gradual transition areas on the surface, and three different densities. All layers are breathable, hybrid cell foam, which channels and expels excess sweat. This new type of foam has a unique elastic recovery which, after being compressed, allows it to return to its original shape very quickly. In addition, its structure has such a high density that it is extremely thin, light and wear-resistant. The first high-density layer is spread over the entire pad, the second, laser-perforated for ventilation and medium-density, overlaps the first, protecting the ischial area. The last medium-density layer, on the other hand, is added to the first in the perineal area. The whole is covered with a soft microfibre with hydrophilic treatment to support the expulsion of sweat and moisture, with carbon thread that protects against bacteria and electrostatic charges. The thinner fabric, thanks to holes in the microfibre in the genital area and inner layers, increases ventilation, reducing perspiration and lowering skin temperature.

+Performance
The structure of the dungarees and the fabric are designed to support the muscles during sports performance by stabilising them, eliminating chafing and reducing fatigue during intense exertion. The quadriceps muscles are as if wrapped in a second skin that protects them from vibrations and accompanies them when pushing on the pedals. The lower elastic force of the fabric is accentuated in the return of the pedal itself upwards and results in reduced muscle fatigue. Thanks to a real movement of the fabric that follows that of the legs, performance is maximised with every pedal stroke.

Black on Black Aero
The CENTA logos are printed black on black, without embossing so as not to compromise the aerodynamics and minimal design.

Perfect Ergonomic Fit
The entire bibshort has been designed during the rider's riding position to leave nothing to chance. The fabric itself has different densities depending on its function: the seams in the pelvic area and the positioning of the pad have been analysed and tested to ensure maximum muscle support and total freedom of movement during performance by reducing pressure in sensitive areas.

Minimal Seams And Panels
Seams have been reduced to a minimum and positioned to create a functional bibshorts with a clean, minimalist design.  To increase comfort in the abdominal area, we have applied a soft, ultra-lightweight fabric insert.

1CC# Mid-High Compression Fabric: Light Resistant Aerodynamic Transpirant
The fabric of the bibshorts is ladderproof, high-density, ultralight, breathable, aerodynamic and odour-neutralising. It is not the knitted fabric found in the most common sportswear whose elasticity is due to the sagging of the knit itself, but a more high-performance one with a solid structure, constant and homogeneous elasticity on all 4 sides due to the interlacing of high-fine yarns. An anti-pilling material, resistant to tearing and abrasion, especially in the saddle area, which maintains its characteristics over time.

Mid Compression Fabric
A medium compression fabric suitable for racing and medium to long rides. A hidden carbon thread is inserted in the yarn.

Hidden Carbon
Inside the fabric, in the muscle area, a continuous filament of active carbon has been inserted. Antistatic, it protects the body from the negative effects of electrostatic charges and, thanks to its high conductivity, promotes the evaporation of sweat and the dissipation of heat, optimising thermoregulation. The lower increase in body temperature results in a lower oxygen requirement, reduced heart rate and lactic acid. The greatest benefit can be felt over medium and long distances, but also during more intense exertion with reduced fatigue and increased energy. In addition, it has bacteriostatic properties and eliminates odours.

Dry & Density
Managing thermoregulation is a key aspect of sports performance, so after numerous tests in extreme weather and sweating conditions, we identified the most suitable three-dimensional fabric structure that would allow sweat to be transferred from the skin to the outside. However, this was not sufficient as the high density of the fabric, necessary for muscle support and compression, tended to accumulate too much sweat, slowing down air drying. In addition, a water-repellent treatment was added at the yarn level to speed up the transfer of sweat from the skin to the outside, through the fibres, guaranteeing breathability, dissipating heat, excessive perspiration and related weight. Equally important properties due to this treatment are light rain protection and quick drying.

Aerodynamic Soft Touch
A special soft touch treatment at yarn level that not only makes the fabric soft and pleasant against the skin, but also contributes to aerodynamics.

O2 Muscle Fabric
FIR (Far Infrared Rays) technology has been applied to the inside of the fabric. During sports performance part of the human heat is dissipated, another part is filtered through the bioactive minerals and naturally rejected back to the surface layer of the skin in the form of FIR (far infrared rays), harmless and imperceptible, which stimulate the superficial blood microcirculation resulting in improved athletic performance and accelerated muscle recovery. This is a patented technology, scientifically tested using recognised international protocols conducted by independent laboratories. Incorporated into the fibre, it maintains its effectiveness, even after numerous washings.
