Continental have revised their successful ‘do-it-all’ tire and gave the Mountain King a completely new tread design. The Mountain King III MTB tire self-confidently follows in the footsteps of the popular predecessor model and offers high grip on dry, rocky and even slightly muddy grounds, thanks to aggressive centre and side knobs. Yet, the tire’s rolling resistance is also quite impressive. After all, it is indeed a ‘do-it-all’ tire.

Technologies

Pure Grip compound
Based on activated silica compounds, this technology was originally intended as an performance level compound, but after intensive development at Korbach Research and Development Department Facility, an advanced new compound with outstanding grip and cross-country properties was developed. This new rubber mix, given the self explanatory name “PureGrip”, is ranked just behind BlackChili Compound and is being used in Performance products both in the road and mountain bike sectors. Whilst providing great grip, it is also long lasting and highly durable – both characteristics of Continental tyres, which are exclusively manufactured in the factory in Hefei.

RTR - Revolution Tubeless Ready
Tubeless Ready tyres can be used both with and without an inner tube. To use it without a tube the tire is sealed with a special sealing milk.
The revolutionary Tubeless Ready bead allows easier and less complicated assembly of the tire. All mountain bike tyres from Continental are Tubeless Ready in the ProTection and Performance formats. For optimum sealing results and use, the Continental RevoSealant is recommended.

ShieldWall System
Optimally combining high puncture protection with easy rolling and low resistance. Designed from an extra casing layer of finely cross-woven material throughout the tire (from bead to opposing bead), the ShieldWall helps protect from direct punctures and other damage such as cuts and scuffs to the casing. Despite the extra layer, a perfect fitment and secure sealing allows the tire to perform flawlessly and with good flexibilty.
